so why doesnt this video have more views. its actually good

Crank movement radius can be totally mimicked to gear ratio. The only problem is that engine RPM has a limit. Therefore, lower RPM can be more efficient and longer lasting solution.

Great video but the kick drum in the music is really annoying.

At 10:00 you wrote RMP instead of RPM but overall its a good video.

I haven't done this type of maths since I left school 54 years ago. Now I know why !

Fundamental error in your formula at 4:48. Horsepower is already power (in watts, or other equivalent units), which is defined as energy per unit time, as such the numerator should be energy (J). In this case, it is work done by the horse, which your calculation correctly calculates, so it is not watts (power).

Speed and acceleration don't rely on 'torque', it's largely a power to weight ratio calculation at that point. Your example of high RPM engine can be made even more extreme, how about a turbine engine? The M1 Abrams tank uses a turbine engine that makes 1500HP and has less than 400 ft/lbs (~550nm) of torque at the flywheel pushing around a 70T battle tank - why? Well because of gearing, it has a 7.5:1 ratio on back of engine and engine spins, much like he F1, as 20, 000 RPM+. Why are diesels used to pull heavy loads? Because they are operate at lower RPM, are very fuel efficient, durable and last a long time. An 800 HP F1 engine attached to a generator attached to some high torque electric motors would push a heavy truck easily until the engine wears out.

So HP is the rate at which torque is produced

i see ot as torque= how hard you can turn and hp= how fast you top speed is

Why does peak torque decrease even though the RPM continues to increase?

Horse power and torque are 2 side on a coin, you cannot separate it. Like our body have physical strength and physical health. Physical strength are to carry something heavy, physical health are staying healthy, not getting sick.

horsepower is just adding a time component to torque

Horse power sells cars, torque wins races.

Video completely wrong. The diesel truck has way more torque and completely diff gear ratios and fuel, engine design, and rpm

Torque is what moves the car. Horsepower is how quickly the engine makes its torque
