I filmed a 30 minute movie on an iphone 5 and a green screen, 10 actors and rented a movie theater and sold out, did that 4 times, it was fun as hell, being there in the theater and hearing the expression from the audience as they watch your movie is priceless 👍🏼🤩

Directors and Everyone Else On Movie Sets Don’t Get As Much As Attention As The Actors

It’s so reassuring seeing these comments and so many people wanting to breach the surface into this industry. The best advice i can give as a young director, just go out and DO. Don’t worry about how it’s gonna look now, just worry about putting your all into making your vision on that screen. Sure you might want to wait and save until you get a nice camera but tbh, you wont know what to do with all that gear unless you’ve worked on films before. You can sit here and watch videos day long but your muscles won’t remember those words, only your head will. So use both and you will learn so much quicker.

I was a co-writer and consultant on a film my friend was directing. After 3 or 4 attempts an actor failed to get thru the scene. My friend then asked the actor "Do you know the difference between cattle and actors"?. The actor said "No" Director "Because cattle can be directed". The next take was perfect.

I found out I want to be a diretor in college, my teacher showed in class a clip form the movie "Behind The Sun" (Abril Despedaçado), a brazilian movie by Walter Salles, and I got in love immediately. But then I realize that if I want that position I would have to know a little bit of eveything in a movie set. So I started to study photography, poduction, executive production, writing, director assistence and did some small movies, specially documentaries. Now I'm working in a bussiness where I'm a screen writer and director, not really movies yet, but I hope someday I will. Ah! I give classes about cinema too.
