tbh i would avoid kabukicho it's really dirty and there's not much there. definitely visit shibuya and asakusa they give you 2 entirely different experiences of tokyo old and new.

I fully agree escaping Tokyo to visit Yokohama is a great choice. Chinatown is amazing, Gundam Factory is awesome too.
Thank you so much for shouting out Odaiba. I feel like too many people sleep on that location. It’s truly a beautiful place to walk around both day and night with lots of shops and restaurants to checkout.

I was in Japan(Tokyo, Osaka etc etc) few days ago for 11 days and we were extensively using Suica. The app was downloaded to our Apple iPhone wallet and we used extensively for metro train trips and purchasing stuff from shops and wending machines. Just top it up from your bank account as required. It`s pretty easy to use especially at the train stations just show/tap your mobile phone.
Japan is a wonderful and very clean country.
We live in Australia.
