30XX is the Mega Man game we all deserve.

So today, I am talking about it and how it has made me realize how much of a Capcom fanboy I really am. From Mega Man to now something better, let's head into the world of 30XX and rouglikes like never before!

Thanks for spotlighting this game. As a person who was part of the beta of 20XX, it makes me happy that 30XX is getting more recognized. It's fantastic and definitely fills a void for Mega Man fans.
For reference, Chris King, the main developer for both games, made 20XX because he was tired of waiting for X9.

regarding story, you're not wrong in that it takes a bit of a backseat to the gameplay, especially when you get accustomed to playing it on Standard. however, it does have a creative way to present it in the form of secrets that you discover through self-imposed challenges. Alexia, the purple-haired scientist in the base, will basically be the one giving out the clues as a reminder if you want to chase these secrets. you can start finding clues to these secrets upon completing a full run.

I discovered one of these secrets by complete accident because I wasn't aware of how to trigger it. a secondary benefit of it is that these secrets (bar 1) will have remixed 20XX tracks, my favorite is titled "Midnight Sun" in the OST.

another thing prevalent with these Roguelikes is the allowance of permanent upgrades, most folks are generally expected to flub runs frequently, but by building up that consistent currency (Memoria in this case) you can make your next runs much easier to handle... arguably to the degree of slightly hoarding your powerups in Mega Mode in some cases. Hades also has a pretty neat story, and it's told in a different way that incentivizes you to keep playing, you'll see when you complete a run there, too.

Rogue-lite, not Rogue-like. Mystery Dungeon (Shiren the Wanderer, Chocobo's, Pokémon, etc) are Rogue-likes. The difference is that Rogue-likes are turn-based RPGs where enemies' turns occur at the same time as the player's while Rogue-lites take elements snd use them in other genres.

This looks really good maybe I'll try it out but as a Mega Man Fan though I do feel a bit disheartening cuz I feel like Capcom is abandoned us because Mega Man 11 and nothing out of it like it's really upsetting

I think 20xx was better. I know people thought the "flash graphics" weren't their favorite but I enjoyed the game a lot. I personally think 30xx is the uglier looking game. It looks like an NES game and It plays more like the classic megaman series but with wall jumping. I was mad excited for it but it was delayed on switch for like months and when I finally played it, the og was better
