Clint Eastwood directed this film based on the Broadway musical who tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

The film contains Frankie Valli's most successful hits , especially this song written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan, which speaks about childhood loves

"My eyes adored you though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored you like a million miles away from me
You couldn't see how I adored you
So close, so close and yet so far
Carried your books from school
Playin' make believe you're married to me
You were fifth grade, I was sixth when we came to be
Walkin' home ev'ry day over Bonnicut Bridge and Bay
Till we grew into the me and you who went our separate ways

My eyes adored you though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored you like a million miles away from me
You couldn't see how I adored you
So close, so close and yet so far
Headed for city lights, climbed the ladder up to fortune and fame
I worked my fingers to the bone made myself a name
Funny I seemed to find that no matter how the years unwind
Still I reminisce 'bout the girl I miss and the love I left behind

My eyes adored you though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored you like a million miles away from me
You couldn't see how I adored you
So close, so close and yet so far

All my life I will remember how warm and tender we were way back then
Whoa baby
Oh the feeling, sad regrets I know I won't ever forget you
My childhood friend".

His facial expressions in these shots alone should've earned John an Oscar nod. You really feel like crying with him.

I loved how the director did a reprise of my eye adored you, because this really really  goo this sence when his own daughter died. this is one of the most saddest sence in both the stage and in the movie. I love frankie expression in this scene in both the stage and movie.

I admire that Franki Valli put this sadness out there for us to share with him. He didn't have to.

My father had 5 brothers, I have 2 brothers, I have 2 sons, their mother has 5 brothers, and I also have 1 grandson. Now, I have 4 granddaughters and this song brings tears to my eyes because of this movie. Great music and great stories should move people.

Earlier this year, over a course of 8 months time, I lost a nephew, an older sister (nephew's mother sadly) and if that wasn't enough, my Aussie dog. It hit my family hard but my father took it the hardest especially. When my sister died, I immediately remembered when the real Frankie Valli lost his daughter Francine, very painful. The fact of the matter is that no parent should ever have their child precede them in death. I even got tear-eyed when I saw this scene and it hit close to home for me.

Estamos acostumbrados a fallar y levantarnos, que duro debe ser fallarle a tu hija, la cual deposito toda tu fe en ti.

Removing “Fallen Angel” from this scene was one of this movie’s biggest crimes

I know the band members break the fourth wall by talking to the audience. But the look on Frankie’s face after burying Francine really shows you his grief. It just told everyone he had nothing to say. He had the look of a father who lost his daughter, and wishes he spent more time with her.

I noticed an error. Gyp DeCarlo is here at Francine’s funeral. That’s not possible. DeCarlo died in 1973 while Francine died in 1980

Just as Frankie finishes paying off Tommy’s debt, he’s hit with news of his daughter Francine’s death from a drug overdose. Something that NO parent should ever have to endure.

What’s even more gut wrenching is that Francine was making a name for herself as a singer when she died. She could’ve been a great singer like her father.

Still a powerful scene though.
