He had Shannon Elizabeth, who couldn't dance to save her life; Joanna Krupa, who was stiff as hell; Lil' Kim, who was just out of prison and not at all graceful; Ricki Lake, who was overweight; and Maria Menounos, who was a pretty awful dancer. Just because a girl is skinny and pretty, doesn't mean she's a good dancer, hence the "model curse."
Also, are you seriously complaining about KELLIE when there's a working dancer on the show AND an Olympic gymnast?

The key is to use your partner's strengths instead of fighting against them. That's why his partners all look good even the few that were bad (stiff like no other) - Maria, Shannon - to name just 2, looked good. Kellie was a cheerleader so plenty of stiff sharp movements are her forte so why not use that in one of the few, if not only, dances where you actually can. Not to mention they nailed it! BTW there is nothing similar about the background other than they are both dark lol

I recommend you watch some afterbuzztv interviews (Season 15 and 16) where they have the DWTS pros, troupe or other pro dancers as guests and hear what they say about him. He has has had many good dancers and some not so good...basically everything that SnowGirl said. Watch the interviews and notice a trend in what they all say - he is incredibly talented and smart, he knows how to make his partners look good. He uses whatever strength they have and he highlights it.

Not same background at all. This was more Modern Jazz which has more stiff movement than traditional contemporary like Val and Zendaya had this was just as Superb though.

Ok, but you did mention Kirstie and Marie (Osmond, I'm guessing?). Kirstie placed second, and Marie Osmond got 2nd or 3rd (I don't remember). That's pretty darn good.
Tony's had a lot of good partners as well. Stacy Kiebler, Jane Seymour, Audrina Patridge, etc. Some were eliminated early, but that doesn't mean they were bad dancers. Some had boring personalities.
As far as Derek goes, he's had a wide variety of partners. If he does so well every season, can we at least give HIM some credit?

shannon elizabeth placed 6th, lil kim placed 5th (still pretty good spots)... every other partner he's had placed 4th or won (10 in all)... that's my point... that's a pretty good record compared to say, tony dovolani, who out of 15 partners, 3 have placed 4th place or higher....

kellie's turning out to be a great dancer, which is not surprising because derek is her partner... i dunno what goes on behind the scenes at dwts, but how is it that every season derek gets a kellie, or nicole, or whomever? derek never gets paired with a kirstie or marie or like, omg now, i like derek but i like fair play even more....
