I Review RICK STEIN'S PUB - DISAPPOINTING RIP OFF!

I've returned after many requests to Rick Stein's pub, The Cornish Arms. Now, I've had a few good meals at Rick's restaurants but I must admit - I was very disappointed in this review.

£18 for two sausages, half a spud and 40p worth of greenery? What a joke. I want to meet the pig and get a selfie at those prices.

The Cornish Arms, where no self respecting Cornish person would go! All of that area around Rock, Padstow and certainly any of Rick Steins establishments are no go areas for we mere locals.

Sausage and mash for 18 is a robbery without a gun. That's really nasty work. Rick stop ripping the public off that's your customer's who deserve excellent quality and great value for their dollar.

I'm with you on bowls. What is it with these chefs? It's pretty easy. If you eat it with a spoon, in goes in a bowl, everything else goes on a plate.

People get it wrong with Rick Stein. Lovely TV persona but he’s first and foremost a businessman. The food is below average. The hoummous, you would have been very disappointed. Like eating tasteless paste. His food is prepared and ordered in to a production kitchen (in Roche).

He cuts costs all over and charges a fortune. As a family, we’ve eaten cheaper and better at one of Paul Ainsworth’s places. I’m very glad you’ve made this video. You are speaking what the majority of people say and think, but because he is Rick Stein, people will be rolling through his doors and he will happily live off that. I’m not sure he’s bothered at all about people returning or not, because of this.

The whole meal is completely overpriced. Rick has been ripping punters off for years. No self-respecting Cornish person would go anywhere near his restaurants or fish and chip shops. As usual, it was a great review.

During the war my late father was stationed at RNAS St. Merryn (HMS Vulture). When we were kids, in the 1960s, we used to holiday in Padstow. We would visit Newquay on a rainy day and always stopped at the Cornish Arms for a pasty and a drink on the way back to Padstow. Years later I asked Dad why we never went into the Farmer's Arms by the crossroads. He told me that there were too many ghosts and memories of lost airmen in there because that's the pub they used in 1942.

In France we stuff the camembert with honey, cranberries, thyme and walnuts and oven it in its box, its really delicious and it costs around 15 EUROS, the dessert looked terrible....

Tried his fish & chip shop in Padstow, (only because it had no queues) nothing special. Saw the vacuum wrapped chips being delivered. What, you can’t peel and chip your own spuds, Rick?

Sausage and mash is 3 sausages on a plate with onion gravy. I'd ask for a discount regarding the dogs. It's a restaurant not a pet shop.
