After teaching 1000's of golfers and reading 100's of books this for me is the best ball striking tip i have ever received and its the magic of Ben Hogan's elbow drill! Use this simple feeling and i know you will start to strike the golf ball like you NEVER have before as the right elbow in the golf swing plays a HUGE roll in power and swinging the golf club on plane!

This 100% feels like cheating in your golf swing when you get the right arm in this correct golf swing position you get the club in the SLOT every single time. Every golfer i know feels like cheating when they get the right arm in the correct starting position with driver and irons! This will add SO much distance and accuracy to your golf game! This is how to get your elbow tucked in in the golf swing & it 100% feels like cheating

When you get the right arm correct your can create the perfect backswing and hit more from the inside in the downswing. This is how to set up to the golf ball correctly in the address position with driver & irons. Alex Elliott Golf shows you Starting Your Right Arm Like This Will 100% Feel Like Cheating!!

I started tucking my right arm in as much as possible, has been a game changer

I read the Ben Hogan book in lockdown and adopted this technique as soon as we got out on the course. After a while I forgot about it until watching your video yesterday. Played golf this morning and adopted your karate chop and guess what. Started nailing my shots. Driver, irons and chipping all out of the middle of the bat. Thanks for the reminder. It's brilliant 👍

I started doing this based on Tom Saguto's advice, and it's been a total game changer. As long as I keep my trail elbow tucked, my shots are almost ramrod straight if I keep control of the club face. The thing you have to be careful about is making sure your upper arm isn't too "glued" to your chest on your backswing. Keep the elbow tucked in, but allow the arm to move off your body at the top of your backswing so you're not sacrificing power. It took a few range hours to get it right, but it's been a winner! Great tip, Alex!

Excellent explanation Alex of Hogan's Magic Elbow! I have been working on this right elbow fold and unfold for a while now and I really like its role in making a more powerful swing! Your "reversed hand" drill is a good one in order to feel how the this "magic elbow" occurs! Well Done Alex!!!

Great tip as always Alex.
I’m having a problem with my right hand coming loose on my backswing. Right hand player.

Great explanation! I have Ben Hogan's five lessons book... super great book and illustrations.

well, the key is to hold the handle of the club up, with your left hand; and, then place your right hand on the club. this ensures that the right elbow is below the left elbow, at address.

Hello Alex,
Great golf instruction! I've been working on my right elbow motion just how you explained it with the karate chop motion.😊 I'm not sure if you are aware of it or not, but this karate motion I thought of was because I was watching a video on YouTube by Fernando Cano filming Ben Hogan in Mexico in 1953 when he was at the height of his game. At 1:27 minutes into it he's doing that karate move you're talking about. I wonder if he was giving someone a lesson on how to use the right arm in the downswing? Anyway, it's an interesting thing to see on video from the great Ben Hogan!

one of my swing thoughts (when I remember) is 'Tuck' to initiate that elbow fold.

My right arm move in the backswing is my Achilles heel. I tend to bend my left wrist and hinge my right wrist and the club then travels on an inside path. I get to the point where the club swings around the back of my legs hence I cannot then lift club to finish backswing and end up bending my left (lead arm) to complete the backswing. From this point I then have to reroute the club on downswing to return to ball. Any ideas to help me sort it out would be much appreciated. Great tips y the way!

That drawing is not from Hogans book, and hogan never talked or promoted this setup. In fact hogans right forearm sits above his left. This is a game changer indeed, if you are looking to get worse at golf.
