How to Fix a broken jack that won't lift under load or leaks! In this video, I will be showing you the universal fix for a broken floor jack that won't lift my car anymore. I will show you how to bleed your jack as well as stop the jack from leaking and refill the hydraulic oil.
Don't throw away your out-of-warranty floor Jack I will be working on a Pittsburgh 1.5-ton floor jack but this will work on any floor jack to my knowledge including 2-ton and 3-ton jacks.
My jack would only lift a few inches before I fixed it and now it will lift my car again.
I also show you how to fix leaky jacks with either Stop Leak or a new O-ring. This will work with Sears, Craftsman, Walker, Lincoln, Hein Werner, Matco, Snap-on, and any other hydraulic Jack

pro tip: on the last bleed push the handle to the ground before inserting the drain bolt. This allows enough space in the cylinder for the handle to be parallel to the ground with the jack let out all the way.

I can't thank you enough! I brought mine to a pro-shop they said it wasn't worth fixing. After watching your video it's fixed.

Thanks a million! The manual for this exact jack in the video incorrectly instructs you to bleed through the fill hole (which is how you do it on most hydraulic jacks). 3 unsuccessful attempts to bleed via the fill hole, where it would only take 10-15 drops oil. The bleed screw was the key. Took 1/3 bottle of hydraulic oil. No wonder it wouldn't go above 50%. Works great now. Well done video. Easy to see everything and useful narration/explanation.

Thanks for video! Remember to ALWAYS use a jack stand, never rely on the jack alone while you’re underneath your vehicle.

Thanks. My hydraulic jack died without warning, I needed it badly, and your video helped me get it working again in short order. Great video, short and to the point!

I actually knew this and had forgotten over the years. Great video. And as the other comment says, bring handle all the way down on final bleed

Thanx to this vid I fixed my floor jack. I know nothing of the mechanics of these things and kost videos were made by people who probably assume the viewer already knows certain things. But you went thru the basics. Thank you!

I have two dead jacks. Will try tomorrow. My Discount Tire guy told me NOT to buy a new jack, but just top off the oil. Hence, I watched your video. Thank You! SUBBED
