Binary numbers are kinda long and hard to comprehend, while regular decimal numbers don't fit in a byte. Hexadecimal was created as a compromise!

Fun fact: Recently, I learned myself how to read 16-digit numbers. The formula is quite understandable and can be easily changed into zero-one code or in normal numbers.

you can easily translate hex to decimal by decomposing the number but this time the tens are sixteens so you multiply the later digits by 16 then 32 and so on
