Somalis were outraged when Somaliland struck a deal, accusing them of handing over access to the sea to their greatest enemies. Yet, when Somalia takes similar actions, there seems to be little outcry. Why is the Somali government so opposed to Somaliland, especially considering that Somalia is divided with multiple presidents, each representing different tribes? The Somali president, often viewed as a reactive figure, is seen as a liability to the country's stability.

In the game of chess, one doesn’t react to every move — it’s about strategy. Ethiopia and Kenya now know Somalia's Achilles' heel: Somaliland. This current president is essentially the leader of nothing, destabilizing the Somali territories and pushing once peaceful regions towards independence, with their own leaders. So, who will remain as the president of Somalia? By encouraging these clan-based divisions, you’ve set up a perfect pre-civil war scenario for Somalia. Well done. 👏

And let’s not forget, the presidents of these newly independent states will likely hold foreign citizenship, so they’ll be ready to flee when things go south. Classic move.

18 months ago Abiy said his country would own sea ports by force or by negotiations. Here we are promising ports to Ethiopia. We have nothing to offer to Ethiopia. We should not agree anything under any threat or pressure. People of Somalia will fight this so-called deal.

It's tragedy to people negotiating to their rights, it's OK to access sea but the question is how are you going to access sea, Ethiopia and Somalia can talk and negotiate thier issues, but not erasing the MOU this means the deal still exist, and we gave them another deal of purifying them to access water with in and out, we are really dead as spiritually and physically, but great leaders and good ministries will come and negotiate the world with in a proper way.
My argument is not about Ethiopia will not access water or sea but how. We need to negotiate in a way that we are the land owners, not renters.

We say no to naval base or ownership of Somali ports. They can use Somali ports to diversify their imports and exports.

I think these agreement would have not been any results because we know Ethiopia didn't want commercial purpose and if so, they have been using berbera port and also Djibouti offered them port in tojoura but they don't want it abiye Ahmed making all these things is that he is facing internal conflict and rebels
