Very informative video as someone whos on universal credit for years this is what they dont tell you, they cause stress and anxiety , it can be taken away instantly and you can be forced to go on the work programme and you have to deal with advisors who are almost useless and will make it harder to keep your benifit.

I remember Universal was a fucking miserable time of my had to sell things on Ebay that I didnt have to sell (I hope those people got their money even turn to other less than legal activities just to survive the 2 months I had ZERO income for.

Universal Credit has been an absolute disaster wherever it has been trialed and cost more money to run than it takes in. It is there to force people into work and not worry about whether the work is suitable for them or not. They sanction people for the most trivial of reasons. You have to wait 5 weeks to receive any money, pushing people into abject poverty, or you can apply for an advance (which you have to pay back) and end up not being able to make ends meets. This shit has failed in every category it was allegedly meant to meet, but this apology for a government still persist with it.

Been on UC since the start of this pandemic, I was forced on to this because of the industry I work in. NOT ONCE have I been paid £409.19. bear in mind I did not get a single payment for 6 months.

What makes me laugh i lost my job through virus had to go on UC and i have a job coach that hounds me to look for work! We are in lockdown but i still have to look for job and also encouraged to get public transport even using 4 buses a day, when government has said to stay at home 🤔

I work for my self but i am not classed as self employed, and i earn about £300 a month as somethings im building, i noticed income support is no longer a thing, and universal credit tells me i have to agree to search for a job to be paid. However that would mean if i got the job i would have to give up on my own thing. (YouTube) Any advice for support during growing?

Hello, I found this video very important. I am paid twice a month. So I have given the figure divided by two. But did not include my overtime payment. Furthermore, I have included my 21 old sons. Do they make any fraud allegation, or can I edit the information and how? Please advise; thank you.

Universal credit gives you a mere £324.84 a month if you are over 25, what the hell is anyone supposed to do with that?!

I've just turned 18 and the reason I'm going onto UC is because I don't have the right documents to work such as a passport/Provesional, so I don't hope to be on it for long. I have a question, I've just done the phone interview and now I have a meeting with a work coach at the job centre and it's called a commitment meeting... Do you know what they will ask and what I need to bring? Thank you :)

Can you please explain if claimants wait 5 weeks (4 weeks of assessment, 1 week to process the payment) then why don't claimants receive 5 weeks payment in their first Universal Credit payment? Also, if, say for example, a claimant is switching to Universal Credit from New Style JSA Contribution-based then why does DWP need 1 week to process the Universal Credit payment when the claimant is already in the payment system from JSA???

Universal Credit monthly calculations are flawed as in the old system benefits were paid every two weeks, some months have 5 weeks. Payments cannot be the same amount every month due to there being months with 31 days not 30 even taking into account February shortfalls people will lose money. Payment calculation should be based on days per month only.

I'm single no kids and live in a council flat I have been on what they call the UC light touch regime since march 2019 I work on a zero contact and long as I earn £338 or more a month I do not have to attend job centre appointments and no mandatory work search anyone else doing the samething

I found this video useful however when I called universal credit up they talked me through more in depth calculations on how they work out from your income how much you would be entitled to. I did not understand it and I am trying to find a video on the breakdown so I can work out myself and understand it. Originally I had a message that I was eligible for universal credit but when I called up they said that even though my income was quite low due to over time I wouldn't be eligible. In the next few days I will be moving out and renting. Is there anyway I can work out if that would change anything and I would be then eligible for the universal credit? Sorry to babble on, on these comments but I would really appreciate some help :-)

Incredibly complicated. As a Californian I went onto the calculator and entered my info based on our income here, your taxes reduced our income severely and we got $0 for universal credit. Some of my children didn’t count due to their birthdates. We would be poorer if we lived there, for sure. I don’t think universal means what you guys think it means haha.
