How to use a Midi Controller with Kontakt 5

A short video on how to use a midi control surface like my new Korg nanoKontrol2 to control parameters within Kontakt 5 in Logic X, Logic 9 and just about any other DAW.

Found this vid in Dec 2021 as really couldnt find anything to help me map my Push 2 with Ableton to Kontakt 6. And while your method didnt quite work for me (different DAW and version etc) it did lead me to the solution as i was able to get there using your vid as a base. So thanks :)

Same situation here. Just downloaded Komplete 13. Is it necessary to map these midi assignments in each Kontakt instrument?

can l use the mapping only on kontakt for live perfomance?

Another way I found was to right click over one of the virtual knobs and click "learn" then simply move your physical knob.

Although, I can't quite figure out how to connect my Korg Triton midi keyboard to Logic pro x (settings/virtual-wise). Any ideas?

Hi was also struggling with the Korg NanoKontrol 2 but eventually worked it out like you but what I cannot seem to do is control multiple loaded instruments in Kontact. Not all at the same time though. I can map one instance but when I try to use the same controls for instrument 2 nothing happens. I can go through the same procedure for Instrument 2 and it all works but it would be nice to map everything all in one go. Let everyone know if you come up with a solution as will I. I don't think that the Korg is the easiest of controllers though. :-)

I know nothing about kontakt. When I go to there store, what is it that is required software wise. Also what midi keyboard would be required?

Trying to set up Platform M+ faders with Kontakt 5. Vibrato, dynamic and expression. But it seems as if kontakt 5 wont update the new data from the platform M software.
Any faders that I touch or try to assign to a CC just gets shown as active CC 117 on MIDI Automation and wont work. Despite the new saved and sent data to the device.
Please help!

MIDI doesn't work at all using any of my hardware controller synths in Kontakt 5 VST/Standalone. ALL of my other VST softsynths work just fine with my studio setup, just not Kontakt 5, which is the only VST that won't respond to any MIDI messages whatsoever. I can trigger instrument patches and hear the audio in Kontakt 5 using only the mouse on the built-in keyboard within the interface, but no external MIDI from any hardware based MIDI device, synth, USB controller or rack rompler whatsoever.
