Horizon Zero Dawn: How to get the secret armor (Shield Weaver Armor)

Just in case anybody was wondering, you do NOT need to go to this place at first to start the quest, you just need to obtain a power cell to trigger the quest. I went to the ruins where you get your Focus as kid, and when I picked up a power cell it started the quest. The quest also makes the armory on your map so you don't have to searching for it.

How to get this armor:

1. Complete 90% of the main story-line, so you have access to everything you need...

When you get the armor, you have to retrieve it from your Treasure Box inventory. I say this because until I figured this out I thought I got cheated, lol

I like that Aloy wears this outfit in Forbidden West. Given that this is part of a side quest and therefore canonical, it makes sense Aloy would have started wearing it as her main outfit, but then to justify the player being taken back to square one in Forbidden West, Aloy runs into trouble on the road in between games, losing most of her stuff, including apparently the power source for the Shield Weaver outfit, leaving it without its shielding capabilities. I can’t really imagine any other way to explain how Aloy has noob gear at the start of a new game in the same series, given where the last game leaves off.

For those who didnt understand where the power cell in Grave Hoard is, After activating the 3 power locks inside the Grave Hoard, the door will be opened. When you open the door, the power cell should be in the ground beside a supply crate with some mushrooms on the side.

It was a bit dissapointing to see the armor looking far less impressive on Aloy compared to how it looked before being collected and on Elizabeth Sobek!

If anyone is trying to get back into mothers cradle, there’s a video explaining how to get up the mountain using a strider.
I couldn’t get the 3rd because the cave was frozen shut so I went to the area on top with the large debris going through and there’s a tiny spot you can fit in. Go in, look down, keep rolling and you will eventually fall through into the area bellow.

For those of you confused on how to get to all these places, you have to complete almost all the main story line quests in order to get to GAIA Prime which is one of the places mentioned in this video. The second to last main storyline quest is level 28.

For new people playing the game, skip side missions/clearing zones or cauldrons, do main missions and then acquire armor to make everything else easier to accomplish (for those playing on a harder difficulty)

FYI: the power cell is NOT in the foyer. It's further in the bunker after you open a door with three locks.

It's like in most rpg's, near or in this case after, the end of the main quest line you get the nicest goodies for which at that point you no longer have need or get to use them only for a short period of time.
