China sets ambitious GDP growth target of around 5% for 2024

China's government has signalled that stability and transforming its economy will continue to be a priority. It has set a GDP growth target of around 5% for the year ahead. Premier Li Qiang announced this at the opening of China's top legislature's annual meeting today. It comes amid increased attention on the country's weaker than expected post-pandemic recovery.
