Iron is ESSENTIAL 👏 In this video I show you how to make an efficient iron farm that works in Minecraft Java 1.16+. This iron farm is fairly compact and very easy to setup. Like most iron farms, this farm is automatic. This is an original design.

WHAT TUTORIAL NEXT? 👀🔥

EDIT 1: To get around the fence gate burning either get a nether fence gate (crimson or warped) OR put 3 signs (any type) coming off of the left or right wall, on each other (like below the lava, placed against each other) to stop the water from flowing into the lava area.

ALSO! Put a torch by each villager, just to be safe!

*FIX TO MOST COMPLICATIONS IN THIS BUILD!*
HAD to apply a series of fixes in order to make this efficient and not get stuck.
first the villagers would be permantently panicking and so never sleep. Since they only spawn golems once they have slept atleast once in the past 20 minutes this needs to be fixed.
- Place 3 trapdoors on the ceiling around the block where the zombie is standing (to block the vision of the villagers once they are on top of the bed)
This will give a new problem though, because now they will sometimes be standing on the bed for way too long and never panick, so to fix this.
- Place 1 water source on top of the cushion of the bed, so that there are 2 blocks of flowing water above the bed followed by a sign so the water doesnt flow of the bed. This is so the villager can get on top the bed to sleep but won't permanently stand on top of it.
now the spawning should be optimal but golems would still get stuck with this design. to fix this problem
- Place chests at the end of the water streams instead of solid blocks. chests are 1 pixel less wide and golems would get stuck on that last pixel a lot and prevent further spawning.
- Make your iron golem lava trench like 30+ blocks deep so the spawnrate increases slightly (iron golems can now start spawning while the last one is still getting killed) I found this out when my lava block turned into obsidian and there was a golem on top of it for like 10 minutes and no additional golems spawned. then i removed the obsidian causing the golem to drop only TWO blocks and they started stacking like crazy, so a few blocks do make the difference.
- Make sure none of your wall blocks are 'thickened' by having a torch on top of them or something next to them as this will widen them and cause golems to get stuck. This is extra important at the start of the falling trench.
- I also used packed ice under the stream to guarantee even more that golems wont get stuck although I am not sure if this is neccesary.
If you want other people to see, it might be handy to like this comment.

Edit: since a lot of people are still reading this, it seems that the no sleeping/ no panicking or problems only occurs on certain servers ( no idea why ). So if your villagers are just always panicking but hop into bed very quickly from time to time it's a matter of not skipping night too fast by sleeping urself and waiting for it to start up the first night. You can skip the part with water, signs and trapdoors in that case.

Imagine just minding your own business and some random person shoves you into a weird thing and puts a criminal near you

So you call the police but they just burn up

Wattles: Definitely my cheapest iron farm
Also wattles: *Builds it out of netherite blocks*

Lmao just had the biggest bruh moment in my life yet. I tried making this and accidentally fell into the hole where the zombie was. I couldn't break out in time and died (and I was hesitant on killing the zombie). So, when I returned, I realized the zombie now had my enchanted sword and leggings equipped. Ironically, I named the zombie 'Bruh' prior the incident.

a little recommendation, everything that needs wood on this farm and is close to lava, make it from nether wood, so it doesn't burn

a few tips from my experiences with this farm,
1) replace the chest with hoppers and have the chest a block down, so that iron wont get stuck on top of it and despawn
2) light up the chambers so that mobs wont spawn and infect/kill villagers.

Just for clearance, the gate to stop water has to be made of crimson or warped wood, otherwise they can burn up
edit: can also be made with signs as they wont burn
edit 2: You can put string on top of gate to make it unburnable

Tip: If you take one, your can use a bell to move villagers to their beds no matter the time of day. Make a staircase, ring the bell, let the villager ai do the rest!

Hint for getting villagers in survival: remove all work stations from a village and place a work station within eyesight of a villager. The villager will try to go to the station for a job, destroy it before they get to it. Rinse and repeat until villager is in the farm. Use a 2 wide dirt staircase with this method to get villagers up to their cells. Fast, easy, no rails.
