One thing I learned hanging out with a lotta people from Mexico and Central America is if they warn you something is spicy, it’s probably fine. At least they’re thinking about it. The ones that don’t say anything are the ones you gotta worry about. They might be about to feed you something straight out of the pits of hell but they won’t warn you because it doesn’t even occur to them that something could be too spicy. Some of them have been popping habaneros like peanuts since they were five years old
