I have wanted a hydrangea for years, but the bills came first! Now that, at 78, I am debt free, and am learning what it's like to have to have money to spend such things. I'm planting mine in the close vicinity of a Japanese red maple that I planted two years ago. I want to see how the colors work together. Do you do anything with a night blooming cereus?

Some little tweaks on the hydrangeas that my mother learned over the years is not to cut them back in the fall and add bonemeal twice a year around the base on the soil. Cutting them back will not make them bloom the following year. Water water water them during the summer.

Love your vids! I have a question. This summer I rooted some gorgeous Hydrangeas from my Mother's funeral & would dearly love to keep them alive. When is the best time to plant these in the ground? What do I do with them over winter if I should not plant them in the ground right now?

We just bought a home that has 2 different hydrangea bushes that get very hot afternoon sun. They started out great. Then starting about July they developed brown spots with white in the middle. I noticed that wilt pretty good when sun beats on them and perk back up when out of sun. Should I move them or what do you recommend? Good size bushes.
