This, like everything Gary says is quite insightful: yes, there are so many options out there. People can go off on their own, but there will always be situations where people will want to hitch up to a company. The companies need to make themselves be "a bet worth taking".

That's quite the paradigm shifting outlook for a dude that grew up in the 90's (me lol)

22, left at 18, no college, misdemeanor pot charge in Texas. Dipped to a legal market, used my high end kitchen skills to get into the cannabis lab scene. Now I've started multiple labs, multiple restraunts, dispensary, my own house and property, and I'm on my way out of the weed biz to develop sustainable food systems.
I've query quit before and some I've forgotten, some hurt me still. Don't stoop below your character to justify why you're leaving, you're leaving because there's a better story for you!

I think most people, especially 16-22 group should do real/regular jobs to get life experience, appreciate money, learn skills/responsibilities. Absolutely no shame working retail, catering, delivering etc while you're young to learn life lessons and values

I remember leaving an interview once because I could see exactly how their whole dynamic was and it was how everyone basically tried to ignore the owners (married) arguing CONSTANTLY. But they were absolutely enraged that I'd "squander such an opportunity". I just said thank you for your time but this just isn't a good fit.

So we're all gonna sell stuff to each other, and we're all gonna watch each other's videos? Ok.

Imagine what is going to happen to innovation in the USA if instead of aspiring to be engineers, researchers, doctors, or teachers all the kids instead aspire to sell stuff on Facebook or make brand deals on Tiktok

I am having trouble finding people for trades jobs despite the fact that we promote from within, have great benefits, pay for training so they can acquire new skills and certs… I’m trying to help women explore those industries… but we are headed toward a serious lack of trades people otherwise.

Lol most people by faaaar aren’t doing any of this stuff but I agree that the compensation/opportunity package most companies are offering is laughably out of touch.

There's already a shortage of skilled laborers and in white collar professions. If this trend continues what do you think it will look like.
An oversaturation of people and skills that can and most likely will be automated.
