The intro was over a minute long, also it is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL to fish for sharks with a treble hook! Educate yourself on the law before you go out and do something stupid like this

Justin-Treble hooks are legal in SC check SCDNR before misinforming people.

I usually wire together hooks in a cross formation. A bait keeper hook 9/0 or larger up top to hook the bait fish through the bottom of the mouth and out a nostril. About 2.5" lower 2- 9/0 hooks pointing out to left and right & 3" lower another 9/0 normal or 7/0+ treble hook as a trailer. I hook the bait as described & rubber band the body of the bait to the rig. With proper drag these will do in the surf. For bigger sharks remember the line in JAWS "We are going to need a bigger boat"

We always set out 3-4 rods they are all rigged the same. Caught 5 nice ones again this year (2013) also a 38" wide sting ray. Awesome how well this works.

I would try on one end of the Island or the other. mouth of the Stono or Kiawah rivers. the sharks feed more here as bait is washed out of the rivers 1 hr before low tide. Satellite pics show where Bass Creek empties into the Stono should be awesome, but I have never tried it. Access could be tough. If you have to fish on the main beach use 2 - 4oz sinkers and wade out waist deep to cast past the breakers. Again 1 hr before the turn of low tide currents will be weakest. Good luck

We keep 2-3 small rods for catching bait going all the time. Keep it fresh and remember sharks and rays eat crabs too. sounds like you have a lot of bait out there. 1-2 hours before low tide helps also.

I am not sure where these are located but a place where the deeper water approaches shore is best. That said, the bluff sounds like a sharper drop off to deeper water. Just a few feet can make a lot of difference. On Seabrook we fish on the stretch of beach in front of camp St. Christopher where the water is a little deeper. The currents can be aggravating there off low tide. our biggest was a 6'6" there. Lots of rays too but they are just as much fun to catch. Study satellite photos

Nice set up. Trying some this week. But the crabs get to my bait before anything else does if its cut bait or dead.

with the sharks that your going to catch you dont have to worry about the tail cutting the line

Nice video! Are you tying you treble hook to your circle hook? Its a little hard to tell. If you are, I'm assuming the same test steel leader as your 3ft leader? Going next month and would like to try this. Again, nice video.

So this may sound stupid, but im vacationing to SC in a few days and want to go for some of the SMALL sharks off the beach. Without spending a ton of $ i dont have on special gear, would a large catfish pole work? I come from a non ocean area so i have never ocean fished. Thanks man.

I'm sure all the serious Land Based Shark Fishing guys here in South Carolina are loling SOOO hard at your "shark rig" When you start kayaking baits out with 200lb line and big 80 wide bait casters... then your shark fishing buddy.

what is the hook size you use for 80 to 90 pb sharks.
