I love how all these demonstration videos have a chain that was cleaned before the shooting started :)

I was scratching my head about how to use the chain checker, now I know what to do!

I always clean the chain BEFORE washing&cleaning the rest of the bike though. Degreasing with a brush (or spray degreaser) is a messy process because it creates oily-dirty spatter from applying while turning the cranks.

Powder soap is good degreaser too, i use it most of the time.

Don’t forget that if running an 11 speed Shimano chain then the manufacturer recommends replacement when wear reaches 0.5mm!

After many decades of lubing a chain, I’ve found that adding one drop per roller is the best method. Anymore and it’s a waste and makes a mess.

Thanks for the help! Seems to work great. Question tho, any tips on how to clean the paintbrush? Having difficulty 😬

Did this look almost accidentally like three GCN episode about cleaning your bike? British Cycling separated the two but everything about degreasing and lubing was the same

How are you supposed to change your gears whilst doing this?

How can you tell when to lubricate the chain because i lubricated my chain a month or two ago but did not ride it at all, so should i lubricate it again?

Do you have to replace your cassette if you replace the chain?

do you just wipe the sides of the chain off after lubing ?

Hey your information is not good .Chain should be replaced at 0.75 not at 1 .If chain reaches 1 that means your casette needs replacement too

has anyone other that me, picked up that this video is doctored, thus making it impossible to actually do what she is doing - NOT HELPFUL AT ALL -the chain and cogs are moving and the wheel isn't - while she is using both hands. think about it. She is also moving the mechinisms in the opposite direction that my bike specialst told me "i should not do "
