The FIFA Player Traits that can win you Career Mode Titles

You might have noticed those weird icons when buying new players or hiring for your youth academy, but what exactly are they? Player traits can have a huge impact on your team, provide you with unique players and help you to win more games. Today i’ll let you know which ones to look out for, but first, what exactly are player traits?

Traits are exactly what they sound like, they are ways of representing the personality of a player. Someone who does lots of tricks IRL might have the flair trait in FIFA. Someone who jumps into tackles riskily IRL might have dives into tackles in FIFA. The majority of traits are good, saves with feet greatly increases chances of a save in one on one situations. There are some that you need to avoid, and we’ll go into more depth here later, but one obvious one is the injury prone trait, this makes players need time out of games from smaller impacts.

Okay so now you know the basics. How can a trait help you win a match, let alone the claim that traits can win entire titles!

The easiest representation of a positive impact from a trait can be from the second wind trait. This trait gives players extra stamina in the last 30 mins of games. If you’re playing any kind of press, you’ll be familiar with the feeling of having slow and sluggish players towards the ends of games. Having a few players with this trait can not only help you keep the press, but can help you counter and might win you 1 or 2 games each season!

There are some trait combinations that work really well together. Having a full back with the giant throw-in trait will allow them to hurl the ball really far into the box. If you’ve also got a player with the Power Header trait, they’ll be more likely to generate extra power, and therefore make every single throw-in a potential goalscoring opportunity.

You’ll get the picture now that a few traits are clearly better than others. The amount of outside foot shots a CB might have is so small that theres no point recruiting that kind of trait. However a Power Header CB might be able to add 5 goals a season if you know how to take a set piece. But which traits are overall the best over the course of a season?

GK: Comes for crosses

Attacker: any shot trait, speed dribbler
Club captain: Leadership, Team player

i just wish players are able to gain traits thru playing games or from training. it's too random for if you are doing a youth academy only save

Saves with feet trait is the most op trait for a goalkeeper and probably most important

I would say "speed dribbler" is the best for simulation - just watch the simulation and how often there are 10 players in front of your player with the ball, why everyone else in your team is in a bad position - he can just go solo and reaches almost every time the box... from then on, he just needs a good shooting position or at least one player, whom he can pass the ball to, that he can score. You can create so many new opportunities with this trait, that I think, it's the most underrated (if you simulate).
