What's the Best Country to Live in? #shorts | In this video, I go over a few countries and their ranking on the the Human Development Index. This basically tells you what the standard of living is in the country. The higher the HDI score, the better the country.

As a Singaporean, I am a little taken aback that we'd be that high on the global scale. But after thoughtful analysis, I can't help but agree to a certain extent. If what you want is a good paying job, top notch Cambridge certified Education for you and your kids, safety and security, Great and affordable healthcare, good food, comfort, convenience, political stability, business opportunities and a kind, caring and friendly neighborhood then this is it. (Basically the bare necessities that give an acceptable level of comfort). Singapore through its short life of 57 years has grown tremendously to unprecedented standards by the old generation. You can now live your life, following the law knowing that it has taken care of your needs to a ripful old age of 86-100 years old without stepping out of South East Asia. This is a community where if all you wanted is to live a peaceful life, this is the haven. There's a lot I can say about my country, but it would make this list too long and may give a false impression that Singapore is perfect which it ofc isn't, there are still numerous flaws and problems that are being tackled on the daily, some even outrageously shameful. Proud of my country regardless. Hello and love from Singapore

On Singapore. As a Singaporean, we are overworked and very stressed. We are ranked the most expensive city in the world alongside New York. However, our country is very safe as compared to other countries. Although we may not have any natural resources, we have ike the 2nd busiest trading port in the world and have pretty good relations with other countries. We may have an Authoritarian rule and harsh laws which we don't like but it is crucial to keep the country running so well. We went from a 3rd world to a 1st world country in less than a generation. Although we are one of the smallest countries in the world, our military is ranked 29/145. Being small allows us to be interconnected and it makes travelling around so convenient. We also have advanced electronics and stuff. We also have the World's best airport, Worlds best passport and one of the highest average IQ. However, it is very competitive, challenging, tiring and costly. External threats are also always happening and in that case we are screwed. SG is also the most expensive place to own a car.
