The Tatar endings are kinda cracked, but yeah, they _were_ in that peninsula long before the modern entities of Russia and Ukraine began feuding for it.

As a Crimean Tatar, I have never seen a more accurate video about Crimea. Greeks, Bulgars and Tatars lived here until 1944, but with Stalin's decree, all people except Rus, gypsi and Jews were deported to Central Asia and Russians were settled here. With the independence of Ukraine after 1991, the people who were mostly exiled to Uzbekistan returned, but after the 2014 referendum, the situation of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians living in Crimea was not welcomed. As a Crimean Tatar, I want to see Crimea as part of Ukraine, but we are a minority population here. However, Crimea is still a Tatar word.
