When Italy ALMOST turned fascist again - Tambroni's Terrible Cabinet - Mastichiamo

You heard that right.
In 1960 Fernando Tambroni, Gronchi's best man, screwed up so bad that Genoa went on a strike and the main square became the stage for a ww2 reenactment gone wrong.
In this video I will showcase the MSI's little plot to take advantage of popular unrest to boss the left around.
Fortunately it amounted to nothing, but we still have a great story to tell.

Una piccola annotazione: la Legge Scelba, nella sua interpretazione corrente, limita il divieto di ricostruzione del partito fascista a quelle forze che, oltre a richiamarsi più o meno apertamente al disciolto Partito Fascista, ne utilizzino i metodi.

Un caso interessante è dato dal movimento Fascismo e Libertà. Nato agli inizi degli anni ‘90, il movimento è stato ovviamente soggetto fin da subito ad accuse di apologia del fascismo. Ma l’assoluzione è arrivata fin da subito, con questa motivazione:

«L'art. 1 della citata legge Scelba stabilisce che si ha ricostituzione del Partito Nazionale Fascista nel caso un partito abbia un programma politico atto a togliere la libertà. Nel programma del Movimento Fascismo e Libertà - Partito Socialista Nazionale non si vede nessuna intenzione di togliere la libertà, anzi esso prevede una Repubblica presidenziale bicamerale con Presidente della Repubblica con pieni poteri ed eletto dal popolo.»

Il movimento esiste tuttora.

I’m surprised this isn’t talked about as much outside of Italy. A possible second fascist uprising is something people would talk about.
