When Waterfall is implemented properly, it doesn't suffer from the cons you mentioned. Agree that there are crossovers, like how the 80 hour rule, and breaking the job down, resembles a sprint. After 30+ yrs in IT, and seeing both in practice IMO Agile does not work well on web dev projects but can work for software development IF the leadetship has more than a 1-day certification in some area of Agile or Scrum (which is often the case). PM training takes time. Agile certifies people too quickly. Just my 2 cents.

I was require to implement the agile methodology in a corporate accounting setting and it does not work. Our work is very repetitive and limited to a monthly basis. Adding in additional projects to the month is usually a plus, but following the waterfall method is the way to go.
