Having a temp sensor on the bms itself would not help at all. A BMS warms up very quickly when current flows through it. A temp sensor for cells needs to be attached to the cells, and no where else. Even if they programmed the BMS to have low temp charging protection with a sensor attached to the fets heatsink, it would not work properly.

Some have suggested adding their own bms. That would not be fun. These are hard to open and you won't be able to use the case after you open it. And it would be a huge waste of time.

Also, these cells peak temp should be 60 degrees Celsius! So the current temp switch has too high of a threshold. Not good!

So as mentioned in the video, use a victron solar charge controller with their "battery sense" temperature sending unit, and add your own low temp charging protection.

I did want to let you know they have since changed their statement on their website and it only states high temp disconnect. I can only presume this is due to your review. I appreciate your reviews and have learned a great deal. Keep up the good work.

0:51 - "Chainsaw" sighting. That email from the other manufacturer last week was hilarious.

Every review/disassembly you do on another battery just makes me happier I have SOK'S! And that's thanks to you!

Thanks for ripping these suckers open to call out any of the false advertising. Your videos are helping me with my off-road camper trailer build. Bought 5 hqst 100 watt panels for a fraction of the renogy ones that are pretty much the same based off your assessment. Still trying to figure out my battery options. Right now I'm looking at the bluetti AC200Max with one B230. 3k for 4096wh with the built in inverter and plugs seems like a pretty good deal plus the portability is a plus.

I have two of the Chins 24 volt 200 Ah with the 3000 24 volt growatt all in one controller. They are indoors in my Northern Arizona off grid cabin. Runs everything and has for over 7 months 24/7. Not had any issues. Thanks for all the great videos you put out. I watched for a year before chosen my system.

Your videos are so helpful!! You save a lot of us from making bad decisions on what we thought was a good buy. I keep going back to getting SOK since they’re cheaper than BB and are fairly equivalent.

I'm going to be honest, everytime you tear into a battery I get so sad, my heart screams I can use But thank you for doing it.

Will, thanks for continuing your low temperature sensor efforts.

My motorhome has multiple charging methods including the alternator. If I switch to a LifePo4 battery without low temperature protection, just starting the engine in freezing temperatures will damage the battery.

Low temperature protection and total conversion cost is preventing migration to LifePo4.

Keep pushing for low cost with low temperature protection!

Thank you for your review. We could have used this battery for years then had the occasion to go to a high altitude cold place and have it fail completely. That is not the time to find out your battery doesn’t work there. Great review. Everybody is so trying to get sponsors that it is so rare to get an honest review of things by taking them apart and seeing what’s really there. Again thank you.

Hi Will,
Just about to buy this battery here in the Netherlands for €899. I have 2 x 170w solar panels, 100/30 Victron, Victron battery protect, plus Victron BMV 712 + 2000w pure sine wave inverter ( not Victron) your comments always appreciated cheers Chris the Aussie living in The Netherlands 😉🇦🇺👌

Why they try to snooker Will Prowse is beyond me. He will expose everything. If it's not there, he will find out. If its there, he will test it it. Glad you are on our side Will. Keep it up 👍

I have the Chins version of this battery that says made by enjoybot . Been living off it for the last 3 months cycling it everyday with a Victron charger. Very good battery so far. Been running my entire off grid house during the night and charge during the day waiting on server racks to show up. No sun lately so been running the propane powered Honda to charge it. I keep it in a insulated shed as it’s been down to 14 and soon will be 7.
