The worlds only and soon to be retired flying Vulcan B2 Bomber reg. XH558 is seen taking off from her home airport, Robin Hood Airport (former RAF Finningley) near Doncaster South Yorkshire. This Iconic Aircraft went on her final V Force Tour on Saturday June 27th, 2015. This is the loudest Howl and Engine Thrust I have had yet. (XH558 set of the car alarms) which I don't think I got on film. Enjoy!!!

Beautiful, so pleased it came to an airshow on the Isle of Wight many years ago. The sight & sound from the exhaust when it went near vertical will/has stayed with me forever 😍

Beautiful. I was fortunate enough to live under the flight path of these beauties when I was a child, the sound of take offs and that wonderful howl will be with me forever. Thanks for sharing and bringing back those memorie.

I saw one of these by chance! When the last one was doing the tour of the U.K I was desperate to go and see it but I just couldn't find the time. We drove from south Devon to Northampton for a festival and on the Saturday I was laying in my tent when I heard a thunderous roar. I ran out to see what it was and a Vulcan was flying quite low above the festival! It literally came to me, right above my head! It was really impressive seeing it fly by at such a low speed. I knew then that would be my first and last experience of seeing and hearing a flying Vulcan.

Sunday was quite good too. Unexpectedly roughly 20 hot air balloons passed over the festival site over a 15 minute period, 2 of them were metres from crashing into one another. The whole festival erupted when they started to drift apart from one another! Pretty thrilling...

I used to play in those hangers as a RAFbrat in the mid 1960`s. My dad was a WO2 tech and Vulcans were his daily job. Circuits and bumps was an almost daily occurrence and from time to time there was a full squadron scramble that could be up to 12 aircraft...very exciting.

Love this thunder dancing beauty. Apart from the howl, always thrilled when it was maybe a mile away, quiet, then it flipped up into a full power climb, then a second or so later the quiet was shattered by its tremendous air craking roar.

I remember the first time I EVER saw a Vulcan bomber - it was in the summer of 1978 on the NBC-TV show "America Alive." I FELL IN LOVE with the Vulcan bomber after that!!!

It was RAF Finningley when I lived there home to Vulcans, Victors and Valiants. I used to see AND hear this EVERY day

I loved the sounds of the V bombers. My dad was in the RAF for 25 years & I remember the Victors at RAF Wittering in the 60s. They could get 4 Victors airborne in 4 minutes & the klaxons going off at 2 or 3am used to drive the locals nuts lol. They even had Vulcans at RAF Tengah in Singapore when my dad was at RAF Seletar, until Harold bloody Wilson made us leave in 71 & not 75 as was supposed to happen.
And my dad's mate was at RAF Scampton & they did the same with Vulcans. & most kids these days would think a Vulcan was something from Star Trek! How sad is that?

My father was a tech guy on these in the early-mid 60s at this air field. So many stories - none of which can be published...especially from '62 (potentially, 30 seconds away from full WW3).

There is a special place in heaven for the people who designed and built the AVRO Vulcan.
