What Are the Square Items on the Front Side of the Tank Turret Used For?

The Combat Identification Panel, also known as the 'Coalition Identification Panel' or simply 'CIP', is a device mounted on military ground vehicles that used by the United States Army with United States Marine Corps and its allies to distinguish them from the enemy during battle. They were developed after the first Gulf War to reduce friendly fire incidents among allied ground forces. These panels are designed so as to produce a distinct and easily identifiable infrared signature when seen through thermal imaging systems. CIP panels first saw widespread use in Operation Iraqi Freedom where nearly all coalition vehicles were equipped with these devices, usually mounted on the sides and rear of the body or turret. Some were even mounted on the driver and front passenger doors of Humvees with a special cutout so the door handle could still be accessed through the panel, as well as on the hood between the windshield and the top grille.

How to prevent enemy tanks to copy the V on their tanks for camouflage?

the CIP sections on either side of the main gun in the M1 Abrams A2 can be supplemented by ERA blocks whose outward facing side will double up as a CIP as well . . .

The 2A4 variant of the Leopard dates back to the 1980s. It is therefore no wonder that they were so easy to destroy with modern anti-tank weapons. The inaccessible performance of the Turkish crews did the rest. The current Leopard 2 is A7V+.

Bit more tactical that WW2, but then I guess multiple countries can have similar hardware these days. Look at Europe for example.

So the obvious question is what keeps the enemy from installing those on their own tanks, which I'm sure must have been considered but this video is six minutes of repeating redundant sentences to say something that can be said in 30 seconds
without covering that obvious missing point.

Low profile means harder to hit and move faster to another location.
That was proven with the Sheridan m551 back in seventy’s early eighties. Seven day war

"IFF-panels"? Why have they been covered by steel-plates and additional armour on the sepV3's then? ...and who in hell is going to take an Iraqi-tank for a "Chally" or an "Abrams" and vice-versa - even on night-vision?
