If you don't have professionally re-reamed pearl hole edges, the cotton suggested by the author, Rimmoto, will eventually fray. Use pearl "silk" which has the needle on it already, cones in colors plus white and black, sold by thread size in mm. You need to know the mm of your pearl holes. You'll thread all the pearls on, add a small but appropriate length of gimp, or French wire, for your clasp hole, thread on half the clasp, then back thru the pearls again. Knot or secure the 2 thread ends together with tape or stringing spring. Push all but the pearl closest to the clasp to the thread ends. Withe clasp end over the Fr.wire, firmly snug the 1st pearl to the Fr.wire ends making it form a loop. Start tying knots & moving pearls down.
The 1st knot is clearer than the 2nd. Form a loop w/thumb of thread holding hand and use thumb of pearl holding hand to open loop while pushing the knotted pearls thru that loop with forefinger of pearl holding hand. Sinch the knot snug to the pearl, not super tight against it. Bring down next pearl again snug against the knot, repeat.
