How to Fix Streamlabs OBS Black Screen Display Capture (Easy Method)

Are you having a black screen when you are you using OBS Studios or Streamlabs OBS when you are trying to capture your display as a source??? The entire display will show up black and nothing else. So how do you get rid of the black screen display on OBS??? This usually occurs on laptops where there are two different graphics processors, one being integrated. To fix this problem, go the desktop shortcut for OBS and right click on it. Now go to the second option down "run with graphics processor". Now select the right arrow over and select your integrated graphics processor. And when you launch streamlabs obs now, your display capture will display. ...

Laptop people with black screens: Settings > Advance > Uncheck "Force as render device" under the Video. Then restart streamlab obs.

For ANYONE that this didn't work, go to SETTINGS, then ADVANCED, then UNCHECK "FORCE GPU RENDERING" under the VIDEO tab.
this worked for me as I read through the comments and noticed other people continued to have the same issues. Someone else mentioned these steps, im just passing along the information 😁😁

RUN WITH GRAPHICS. I see that a number of those who commented did not have the run with graphics processor on the selection screen. I had to turn on this option in order to see it on my screen. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel. Click the Desktop menu from the menu bar. Select add “run with graphics processor” to Context Menu. The option will then appear on the screen.

doesn't work for me, even when i turn off "force GPU as render device". I also don't have the "run graphics processor" setting. my system doesn't have integrated graphics (amd Ryzen). all drivers are up to date, and I have the most current version of SLOBS. please help!

Didn't work for me, nor did the suggestion in the comments to uncheck "Force GPU Rendering" as it was already unchecked. From what I can tell, Windows 10 update in May removed the first option and Nvidia had an update yesterday (Nov 9, 2020) that removed the "Select graphics processor for this program:" in the Manage 3D section. I have a three monitor setup with a new rig a couple days ago, one monitor is an older one I used with my previous setup and it still captures (but I've used this for a portrait display for chat) while the captures on my twin 27" curved monitors are a slideshow or just a black screen. Webcam works fine, excellent even and I have a GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (Driver ver 457.30).

MSI Laptop with 2070 RTX card running StreamLabs OBS 0.21.2, worked perfectly. I had to re-select the "window" under display capture a few times, but now it's buttery smooth. Thank you.
