There's something you never hear anyone really saying about this team and it's as important to winning as the talent on the floor and that's the sheer amount of mental toughness it takes to win. The NBA is the best basketball league in the world. In order to be the best you have to give your best effort and sometimes your talents aren't enough, you have to have an indomitable will and a drive to win especially through adverse circumstances. That's what the Knicks did all last season. No other team can claim to have that kind of toughness, drive or will. And then turn around and add one of the best defenders at his position who can guard one to four and an all star coming back from injury who feels like he has something to prove to his team and the rest of the league. The versatility is going to be ridiculous but the narrative has been that they're not the best team and they still need more. This line of thinking is one of the leagues biggest mistakes and it'll be a costly one.

The best Knicks lineup has Randle at the five. With Bridges, Anunoby, Devincenzo/Hart, and Brunson rounding out the lineup. If the team is undersized, then put Robinson in there.

This small ball lineup does not fit Thibodeau's style. Thibodeau likes a big guy in the middle as a rim protector and traditional center in the pivot.

If you want to maximize this roster, the Randle at five is the way to go. Thibodeau needs to adjust to being able to coach a small ball lineup properly.
