2.5D or 3D printing? What would you like to see in the future?

I’m so amazed by your consistent flow of interesting, non-trivial ideas and demos you make! I feel like you never make a “filler” video to feed the algorithm. Great job!

Awesome work, Stefan! I have a hot end set up for non-planar printing for when a more easily available slicer option becomes available. Can't wait to try it on this.

Nonplanar printing is the thing we all desire. It gets me excited. Little steps like this contribute to the ultimate goal. THANK YOU!

I'd absolutely be interested in exploring vase mode designing and printing.

A general tutorial on mangling g-code from python, ruby, or golang would be greatly appreciated in addition to notes on optimizing for vase mode.

Finally someone who accepts the only true way to pronounce Slic3r

11:04 Do note that while deforming the coordinates you'd also need to account for the changing volume elements by using a variable flow rate (specifically a flow rate proportional to the deformation's Jacobian determinant). This is essentially the calculation done in the video for the for the spline case but a bit more involved.

I wrote a small python code my brain exploded when you showed it !

Great job!

Fyi, the slots to re-direct the vase-mode spiral to internal features don't have to line up on every layer. You can offset them 3-5mm every few layers and the slicer has no problems. In return you get far stronger seams from the interlocking fingers.

I just printed my first vase mode object (a vase, strangely enough 🙂) and would be very interested in a tutorial. Thanks for your videos. I learn a lot every time.

Try making a nozzle using your mini lathe that has a super sharp angle, great video btw:)

While this is really difficult with a Core-XY type printer, it should be almost trivial to do with a Delta printer. I really hope you continue this project, it looks fantastic :)

This is so amazing! I am a DevOps and automation engineer. I write python and bash for everything I do. I would love to help you make this more accessible!
Also, my Two Trees Sapphire Plus has dual Z steppers so I'd like to work in bed tilt non-planar. But the slant angle would move the part's X location and tracking that will be challenging.

That 3D printing guy is a genius, awesome video 🤩👌

What an amazing video! This is exactly the type of thing that sets you apart from all the other 3D printing content out there. More projects like this please!

I'm here watching as someone who has a background 3d printing...
Now I have Esophageal Cancer in the late stage. I bought a brand new Ender 3 MAX and, regardless of owning a machine a few years ago, can't even get a single good print. I have spent countless hours and days and more, in-between palative treatments, and get ZERO prints. Everything I do messes up.
I'm blown away by this amazing vid!Unbelievable!!!
I'm here wanting to print ANYTHING and you're printing these incredible prints! So rad.!

I would definitely be interested in learning about designing parts for vase mode printing. Thank you for all the great content.

Those ball run pieces are ingenious. I can see those for hamster runs or cat trees also!

And that little stand for your youngster to access the counter is very cool as well ❤️
