The thing that kills me about the Frosty melting scene is that all Professor Hinkle did was shut the greenhouse door! He didn't lock it or anything, because Santa shows up and opens it with no problem! WHY DIDN'T KAREN AND FROSTY JUST RUN AND OPEN THE DOOR?

As a child, I would repeatedly watch The Legend of Frosty the Snowman, which I did not realize was an entirely different film from Frosty the Snowman. When I got to the reviews in which it talked about a little girl almost freezing to death, I wondered if I’d perhaps forgotten some key details about the movie.

My grandma used to have an ornament of a melted Frosty and everytime I saw that ornament I'd cry. I had multiple stealth missions, attempting to hide it, but it always found its way back onto the tree.

My siblings and I watch this every year, and every year our commentary gets more chaotic.
This year, it was pointing out the kid whose voice dropped an octave to suggest *"bRUce"* as a name.

And remember! Frosty is just an ice elemental spirit who can be summoned using the hat to inhabit a sufficiently cold body!

Fun little fact, the audio during *buh* was corrupted, and they just didn't fix it. Rest assured the child is not a demon, it was just possessed by one for a second.

Anyway, we need Frosty Returns next! That film is surprisingly hilarious!

So, Frosty gets to exist in the winter and the magician gets to have a career the rest of the year.

During the end credits, the narrator states that Frosty returns every year for the Christmas parade.
It shows Professor Hinkle in the parade with a new hat.
I guess he must have finished that apology letter to Frosty just in time for Christmas morning.

0:55-1:10 Frosty the Snowman came out in 1969 and is based on a song from 1950. In 1950, it was perfectly normal to smoke. Watch a lot of early TV shows and you'll find a lot of people smoking. Even by 1969, the Surgeon General had only just found out that there might actually be a link between smoking and lung cancer a few years earlier. What I'm trying to say is that deep-seated societal values take a long time to change. Also, it was just a different time.

This movie scared me when I was a kid not because of like, Frosty dying or something but because of that one scene where Frosty bumps into the guy directing traffic and he ends up swallowing his whistle. Like guys he's never going to be able to breathe properly!

My friend thinks of Frosty as some sort of eldritch horror being with organs and I've been on the receiving end of so many rants. Sometimes I walk in on him giving the speech to someone else and I just sigh.
