Wow! Thank you so much, this clarified a lot for me! It is so amazing how a professor spends an hour and 15 minute lecture explaining things and I don't understand a thing and I watch your 7-10 minute videos and understand clearly. The trouble is my professors tend to rush through the lessons and do a few very simple examples that are no where near the difficulty of my homework which will then seem impossible to do. I wish they would take their time and explain it clearly so it's not so hard to understand. there's one thing that's bothering me : WHY is y = r sin theta ? I get why x = r cos theta, it's just basic trigonometry. but how can y be calculated from theta if theta is the angle between x and r ? theta isn't even a part of the triangle made up from r, y and the line between them. it makes sense if theta is 45 degrees, since then the other angle would be the same, but isn't theta supposed to be an angle of any degree?
