DRIVER LOFT TEST & COMPARISON | WHAT DRIVER LOFT SHOULD YOU PLAY?

What loft should you play your driver at? Comparison on loft changes.
For this test Thomas hits shots in four settings: S (9*), 10*, 11* & 8* with his actual driver the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond. The most noticeable changes were spin rate, launch angle and dispersion. This is just one modification you can make to the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond Driver. Additionally, you can modify the weight screws forward and back to influence the launch profile. Director of Instruction & PGA Professional Thomas Campbell discusses how the loft settings on your driver can affect the distance and direction of your drives.

I've been wondering for the past 2-3 years when you were going to break out and start your own channel - I have always liked the way you do presentation, not only on fitting but instruction as well.
I have watched a lot of club fitters on YouTube, but in my opinion you're the best; I wish I could get close enough to you to have you do my fitting this year - I need a whole bag fitting to start my adventure in joining the Senior Amateur Tour this year.
I watch some of your progress working toward your Pro Card Qual. and I really enjoyed watching your progress and it helped me sort through some things myself.
Good Fortune to you Thomas in the days and years to come - I'm very excited to you succeed; and, hopefully, see you open your own shop.

and remember, "obstacles are what you see when you loose sight of the goal"

Awesome vid, Thomas! Congrats on the new role. My main suggestion is that no one else is doing sim reviews combined with course reviews. TXG used to get out on the course, but even that was very rare. Most all other fitting channels utilize the sim and/or driving range. However, we all know that the sim and range doesn't always translate to the course because of nerves or other outside factors. Would be great to see clubs in action and how they perform during a round. Or just playing a few holes with WITB at the moment, or get out with a client/student to see how they hit it on course. Obviously, weather permitting in Minnesota. Keep it up

Great to see you doing this. It’s so informative. I’ve instantly subscribed. I fully endorse Yo-Yo Zamola’s comment about catering for moderate swing speeds too. Much as I love watching your swing Thomas, I’d have to 30 years younger to even try it! Keep up the good work.

Thomas, for a senior golfer with club head speed of 70mph. Is it possible to gain more distance with a 15 degree two inches shorter driver. Currently playing a 12 degree driver. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is adjusting up to a particular loft the same as hitting a driver with the higher loft? For example a 9 degree +1 vs a 10 degree driver? I'm mainly referring to Callaway drivers with adjustable loft and lie.

Ty youtube algo, nice to see u again Thomas. Subbed!
Was at a launch monitor session with g430max alta CB and tour chrome 2.0 stiff and tsr2 hzdus 6.0. Was getting better numbers with the g430 at 9deg (mid 2000 spin vs 3000 10.5deg) but tsr2 9deg spun much too low 1600-1800.
So diff model head loft I needed was diff. But to be honest neither ping shaft suited me, face contact was low heel to high toe.

I understand changing loft makes a difference, but when you change the loft on these modern drivers you're also changing face angle and lie angle, so my question is which is more important, face angle or lie angle to keep it straight or a little draw. Like watching keep up the good work.

Great video as always Thomas.

I have heard there is a point in low swing speed maybe <85 mph when you should consider a 15 degree FW vs even a 12 degree driver. C

I’d love to see some comparison videos of 85 mph swings with driver vs 3w

Just by watching my ball launch, I’ve noticed I add a lot of dynamic loft to my driver. Usually launches above 110 feet at 9 degrees. Not sure if it was the launch or the spin number but it didn’t carry like I wanted it to. I started by delofting the club. Moved down to 8 degrees. Then went with a low spinning ball. Now it launches about 100 feet. Sometimes less. Ball is carrying about 15 yards further now

Excellent video. As I remember just a couple years back you were hitting the Callaway Epic Max LS and the tour edge Exotics C721 drivers 330+ yards. One went 339. This driver works well but it almost appears the older drivers went further? But anyway it all makes sense and certainly 10° is the magic number for your drives that’s where you got the best results. This is very interesting
