Colored Characters and Emoji in dmenu and dwm

Due to a fix I've mentioned before on my channel, you can now get colored emoji and other characters in your suckless software, just install libxft-bgra (or wait until the upstream fix) and you can see them in st without crashes. In dwm and dmenu, however, there was previously added a little block of code that disallows color emojis in any case, so in order to properly see them after the fix (rather than boxes) you have to make this little change to the source code.

Please, the preferred nomenclature is "Emojis of Color".

bspwm provides more than dwm and i3 and doesn't require having to compile anything in order to add new behaviors. Having to combine multiple patches for different versions of dwm is very tedious and time consuming and you could lost anything when dwm is updated : a lot of patches are for older version and are not updated anymore.
And you provide a very nice starting configuration for it :)

I'm using sway since over a year. And it's sad that suckless won't support Wayland since I'm SOO done with Xorg.

Question: Can you use dwm with my own polybar?

I wonder what do you think about cat <<EOF>file thingy, i think that was called heredocs or something.

tbh i like dwm's stacking workflow but i moved to bspwm because im tired of solving patch conflicts. it's also annoying that dwm has an arbitrary LOC limit while also trying to be both a window manager and a system bar.

Edit: nevermind, I am an idiot. Thank you, I was actually looking for this a long time.
