TDG: The Problem with Hidden Traitor Games

Everybody loves hidden traitor games like Battlestar Galactica, Dead of Winter, Shadows Over Camelot, The Resistance, and others, but people rarely mention the very real problem with these games. In a respectful manner, Cody attempts to address the elephant in the room.

Usually when I become a hidden traitor or spy, especially at Resistance which sucks for me holding that poker face, I convince myself that I'm part of the team.

In Resistance as a spy, if you are picked for the mission with less numbers of total Resistance player, you pick reject, telling guys "this is not a good idea, some might be a spy among us in this mission" prompted when being asked.

If your spy buddy didn't interact with you for a long time or didn't do any move which can make other suspicious, you can confront your buddy, making some accusations of being a spy. You can hope at least one Resistance member to join your side and being best buddies.

If all Resistance members are going in for a mission, try your best behave like a Resistance member and tell them that this mission won't work. You can blame one of the Resistance member or a spy (both who have been on mission before) and go for logical reasons why you reject this idea.

We houserule that all of the players must make shifty eyes when initially looking at their loyalty card, and at random 0-15 sec intervals thereafter.

none of my friends have ever done this. We all just look at our cards as if we were looking at innocent cards

i just rest muy head on my hand it forces my mouth and left eye to mis-shape naturaly so its imposible to pick up any shiftyness that and im naturaly a slow moving guy so that helps
