This was an emotional scene to me but personally I think they could of made more impactful if the killer answer the phone just to let gale hear Dewey getting killed and just mocking her. That could made this more emotional for gale to hear the person she still loves being killed

Dewey's death and the scene with Gail afterwards were surprisingly emotional, which is the last thing I would expect in a franchise like this. When Gail iremarked about Dewey helping people that "yeah, that's what he did", in the hospital after his death, it was almost poignant.

That Dewey simply was a goog guy at his core and he thus always was bound to get hurt or taken advantage of. Either during the killings, or in their relationship, or in life. And it's like Dewey understood this too at his age, he knew he was broken and if he got involved, he was about to suffer, but it just made no sense for him to try and sit these new killings out, because he didn't sit out any of the killings before. He lost his entire life to this, it affected his work, relationships and now he was just a broken man no job, no purpose, living alone in a trailer.

At this point, getting involved trying to help was Dewey's life, that is indeed what he did and this is who he was. And he was always going to suffer, he perhaps just couldn't be sure whether he was going to survive again, or die. And actually, considering he didn't have much of a life to return to, him dying made more sense than him surviving. It's sad and tragic, but his death made sense and it was probably his destiny by now, which Gail understood even though she cared about him.

Pretty solid dramatic stuff I think for a slasher movie.

The way he looks at the phone and smiles because he knows that he is going to die and that Gale “pic” face is The Last thing he will see 🥺

The saddest part about Dewey's death in this latest Scream movie from 2022 is that in the previous Scream movies, despite being stabbed by Ghostface a lot, Dewey always manages to survive, but here, it's now game over for him this time.

Randy's death broke me, but seeing my boy Dewey's luck finally run out has fully killed me, he went out to brutal man, come on !

As much as I love Dewey, you all gotta admit. The only reason how he survived all these brutal massacres from the first movie was purely because of dumb luck.

It was only a matter of time before his luck runs out and this one, got killed because of a simple distraction is exactly how Dewey would react.

RIP Dewey.

Dewey barely survive on every Scream. In scream 5 he’s broken… tortured. It’s make sense this time he died even if I was very sad. In the opposite I love the synergy between Sidney and Gale

I "zoned out" when I saw this scene. I could not believe that Dewey had died. I am in complete shock.

that was a typical place for "Oh no!!".
You know after almost two decades (Since I started this franchise to watch) these characters just grew on you and this was like killing my childhood to watch.
So glad that Gale was such a badass!
