No One’s Really Talking about Osaka Expo 2025 - the day before!?

It’s so strange that no one’s talking about this event the day before it opens. Crickets. There’s a long list of reasons why Osaka Expo 2025 may fail, and also one of it success. Are YOU Going? #osaka #expo2025

i bought the tickets to the expo a few months ago and let me tell you, that website is a nightmare, its like they hired programmers to make people not buy tickets, you have to enter a lottery if you want to attends some of the pavilions in the on the other hand when i applied for my visa to visit japan and they saw that attending the expo in my itinerary they exempted me of the visa fee, that's telling that there are alot of people who are not planning to attend the expo.

My husband went to the previous Osaka Expo in 1970 with his dad, and he still talks about it positively, to this day. He says it would definitely be worthwhile people going this year - as it will give people memories that will last a lifetime, like it has for him.

I was there for the Media Day and it was pretty cool! The expo space is HUGE and the pavilions are really beautiful.

I'm glad I found this channel and will be watching to keep advised as we are coming to Osaka at the end of July to visit our son and daughter-in-law that live there. I'm heading there next Wednesday :) Just for a day, looking forward mostly to see the architecture and layout itself (heading with low-expectations), interesting pavilions will be a bonus. It really looks like they did a lot of over-thinking with this, very old-school should I say, committee based (🐎🐫). Maybe, not enough young people running the show? I have some pictures I took all the way back in 2018 in Osaka of signs promoting the "Osaka-Kansai/Japan EXPO 2025 - World Expo 2025 Candidate" because they were *everywhere* and I found it surprising they were promoting something so far into the future.

When I visited Japan last year, Osaka Expo was the reason for me to come back this year. In the past months, I visited the Dubai Expo which is basically closed but some of the buildings remain and it looked really cool. I liked it so my expectations for Osaka Expo are high.
But when I take a look at the Osaka Expo now, I do get faily dissapointed by the organization/promotion and the fact that there is a minimum space in shadow.
I'll wait for the reviews from others before I buy the ticket but I might go to Universal instead. Hopefully situation will improve next month when I go there

I was there for 3.5 weeks during March and we saw much advertising for this all over the country (I missed you during one of your Shinjuku streams because we were in Asakusa 😢). Even as a tourist I feel like it was never clear what exactly the expo is for? Like what is there to do and what is the appeal? It feels like it's more meant for businesses to connect rather than for people to be excited. I would have looked into going had our trip overlapped but we left right before.

I'm reading a bunch of reviews of opening day at Expo 2025 and it sounded like a disaster. Completely disorganized, inability to get into most pavilions without hard-to-get reservations, multi-hour waits for others, huge lines for food, multi-hour waits to just get in the entry gate, no shelter at all from rain, and a two hour line just to leave the event in the afternoon. It was Fyre Festival-level bad, by all accounts. Hopefully they get their act together in the coming months but so far it sounds like it's not worth planning a trip around.

Yes, we are planning to go to the Osaka Expo 2025 sometime during the first week of June. It will be nostalgic having been to Expo 70. Will be most interested to hear of your experience there in April.
