IEA's The Future of Petrochemicals

The CSIS Energy & National Security Program is pleased to host David Turk (International Energy Agency) for a presentation and discussion on the IEA's upcoming report, The Future of Petrochemicals: Towards a more Sustainable Supply of Plastics and Fertilizers. This new report explores the future role of the petrochemical sector within overall oil demand and the global energy system. Sarah Ladislaw (CSIS) will moderate a discussion following Mr. Turk's presentation.

The Future of Petrochemicals discusses how petrochemicals-derived products are ingrained in today's society and what role they could play in the sustainable transformation of energy systems. Providing a global assessment, the report is informed by key, region-specific analyses. It will be released on October 5th.
