This is the moving story of the Dobermans that left their homes to protect and defend our troops during World War II. Most Dobermans made it back home, but some did not. This is the story of both, because no soldier should be forgotten. The Marine Corps motto, "Semper Fi" embodies their value of steadfast loyalty. What better way to describe a Doberman... Always Faithful.

"I will add that Bill and I decided to do nine life-size castings and an artist proof of this work. Four are in private collections. The others are in very important locations around the United States. The idea was to spread the word widely on the mainland: National Museum of the Maine Corps, The University of Tennessee Veterinary School,
Gray Research Center-Marine Corps University, Quantico, Auburn University College Veterinary Medicine, The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog, and Do McLaughlin who was a true Doberman enthusiast and art lover used her casting as a monument with the classic base on her gravesite at the Hinsdale Animal Cemetery in Illinois. She is also the person who donated a casting to Quantico along with her former husband, Dr. McLaughlin. Semper Fi!" ❤

I only wished more breeders strove to preserve the original traits of the fearless Doberman dogs of old! Many of our great working breeds are being softened down. I’m not saying that those types of dogs be in the hands of the average person today but what I am saying is we’re getting close to outright losing the Doberman of old. They are today, few and far between. What a wonderful documentary! Thank you for making this video. It certainly had me in tears.

Great video, been a fan of Dobermans for a while. One of the first things i looked up in an Encyclopedia was the doberman. Grew up in a military family, never knew thats where the term devil dog came from.
