You cannot accurately read a spark plug that has runtime on it. You must install a new plug, make a full pull, shut off, then pull the plug and read it then....idle time, drive time, both pretty much negate ANY ability to read the plug.

I usually will pull over somewhere Put a new plug on cylinder #8 or #7 make a nice long rip then pull over right away, swap the new plug for a old one then that will give a way clearer look at where the timing is on the strap.

Not a expert but if you are looking at plugs for detenation ya might want to go back to the 1960s. You have a LS in there. It has knock sensors stock. Data log that.

Damn I'm at 29 degrees at 0psi and don't pull anything until 6psi and thought it's conserative.

E85 doesn’t knock, unless lean . You can get preignition though .
