Guy wakes up one day a hundred years after the war and goes home to not only see that his home has changed drastically, but also nobody can recognize him both because few people are still alive from his time but also because he's now a snail.

i ADORE SCALYFOOT GASTROPODS. They literally make their own iron armor. They take in volcanic fumes and basically shed heavy metals including iron and that forms their "scaly foot" which is basically iron scales. Their shells also tend to be made of iron. Theyre so fucking cool
