We have had warnings at work due to Metrorail delays - commuters

I used to take the trains several years ago, and there were various known issues which I typically experienced. Recently, I needed to use this public transport, and there are once again the exact same issues which I experienced years then some. Clearly, Metrorail still relies on the same trains and infrastructure built during Apartheid. Nothing has been improved or built in recent times. Yesterday, I missed a train because the stupid, lazy 'Mama', working at the ticket office was too busy chatting to a colleague to sell me a ticket. And when she finally assisted me (while carrying on talking to her colleague), she gave me the wrong ticket (ticket to Strand instead of Claremont). The whole process of buying a ticket took me 5 minutes, instead of 30 seconds. Thus, I missed my train, and the stupid ticket officer overcharged me (R14). When I eventually caught my train, it took 19 minutes longer than its meant to, to get to Claremont. And just like several years ago, the train always takes an extremely long time to get from Salt River to Observatory (as it dawdles between those two stations, and may even stop halfway between the two). On Friday evening, I attempted to catch the 20:00 train, from Claremont to Cape Town. At 20:45, the train had still not arrived. When asking the security guard (who carries a two-way radio with her) when the train would be arriving, or where the train was, she said that she didn't know. Its massive incompetence, and things aren't going to improve until new management and repercussions (example: for delays, failure to meet deadlines, cancellations, not meeting certain standards) are put in place.
