The first thing on almost everyone's mind when they begin preparing for PMP® certification is how much they will have to study?

And it’s a pretty natural question considering almost everyone attempting PMP® certification is a working professional with some family responsibilities.

Understanding the effort required in studies will help in managing their time and commitment.

It is very difficult for someone else to estimate your effort, as it depends largely on your project management experience: How involved were you in your projects.

Answering the following questions will help:

- Were you involved in all the parts of the project including cost, risk, procurement, scope etc. or just a few parts?
- Do you take decisions on your project or do you need to take approvals for every decision?
- Have you been actively involved in communication outside your organization?

Answers to these questions will decide the amount of time YOU will take for preparation.

Align your answers to a review of the latest Examination Content Outline (ECO) released by PMI® and understand how many of the 35 responsibilities mentioned in the ECO were a part of your project experience. The more your score, the less time it will take you to prepare.

If we take a general average however, you must plan for 8-12 weeks of regular studies.

If you want to discuss your specific case, we will be happy to get on a call with you.
