Thank you! My kids do the dishes and clearly were not rinsing enough! My hubby works out of town a week at a time and I was able to fix it myself by doing all this. much disgusting clogs at ever route! Trash, hair, gunk, etc. Almost threw up a few times but we got it going! Lol the kids have been warned they will be washing by hand if I see chunks again! Lol

Fixed our dishwasher by following his simple instructions. Found a small plastic piece in the discharge hose where it connects to the garbage disposal. That clogged it enough to cause the dishwasher to stop every time during the first minute it was started. Works perfect again! Thank you so much for saving us a service call for something that took me less than a minute to fix myself.

My GE dishwasher did this. My house in an 1800s home so not easy to get into like yours.
No clog. Figured out every GE dishwasher I purchased did this after so many uses. ( I’m convinced the company does this on purpose)
My solution. Got rid of it and bought a different dishwasher brand.

Just installed my brand new dishwasher and it worked fine for 2 cycles then it stopped draining. Thought I fucked something up but nothing a good ole coat hanger couldn’t fix. You’re a gentleman and a scholar, thank you!

Thank you very much for this information. I tried everything I could think of resetting it everything I could find on the internet then I found your site. I don't have that thing like you do to clean out but I remember the sink was draining slowly so I cleaned up the drain and it works now. I can't thank you enough for the information 😊😊

Upgrading my air gap to a copper model with slightly larger pipes and and better design (screw cap on top) eliminated problems with it getting clogged.

My dishwasher is a whirlpool wfc3c24px and sometimes it stops mid cycle with water on the bottom and pauses, if I change the program to 30min program it works perfect, also some times it will work for days with no problem but then randomly Starts pausing again. I have tried moving the drain hose around etc, we don't have sink air gap thing I live in ireland and it just connects under the sink tot the drain. Pipe

Scott - loved the video! I'm trying to troubleshoot a GE dishwasher of mine that looks almost exactly like the one in your video. It stops mid-cycle. No error messages, no blinking lights, no nothing - it just decides to stop sometime in the middle of the wash cycle and shut down. I got the service manual and was able to get to Consumer Error Mode and see a "56" error code - seems to indicate "Failure to Drain", but there's no water in the tub. I have a high loop on the side and no air gap. Drain hose is connected to garbage disposal. For code "56", the service manual just says "Review Training Bulliten TB11-20", but I can't find that anywhere on the internet. Hope you can help!

What’s your advice on a dishwasher that stops mid-cycle with a power failure light? It does this half the time, most of the time it fixes itself on the 2nd attempt, I also feel like it’s during a drying cycle.

at 3:29 what is that drill attachment called? Something like a hose clamp driver? But cant really find it online, only for a hand screwdriver

I don’t have an air gap on top of my counter... never even seen one before. Where should I look under the sink, by the disposal unit?

Love the channel! My dishwasher is connected directly into a wye pipe on the sink drain above the trap and there is no separate air gap. Is this installed improperly?

Our LG dishwasher (LDT5665ST) randomly stops mid cycle, most times with water remaining in the bottom. The numeric display showing the minutes remaining is dot matrix and some of the dots are off so its hard to discern the numbers. I'm hoping a new control panel assembly (LG AGL75675203) fixes our dishwasher. Before I spend $200+ for the panel, do you think this will fix it????
