Disconnecting the battery is often times not enough to disable the airbag. There are capacitors in the car holding charge for up to even a couple hours after the battery is disconnected to ensure the airbag works in the event the battery is disconnected in a crash. Also the airbag can trigger off of the most minimal volatage. So its best to wait an hour to be safe if your going to be disconnecting it.

Psa from Chris fix: Make sure you wait about 30 minutes. Airbag systems have capacitors that allow the airbag to deploy up to 30min after disconnecting the battery.

FYI for all those saying you have to wait 30-60 min to discharge the battery: A fast-track way to discharge the capacitors and safely remove the air bag is to press the brake pedal a few times after you disconnect the battery. The brake lights typically will attempt to pull enough current to juice out any residual energy stored in vehicle capacitance. I do it all the time for my E36/E38/E39s with SRS service.

Added an aftermarket steering wheel to my fit today. Keeps the stock airbag/horn centerpeice and allows you to install the bezel with the cruise control and radio controls into it as well. Nice aftermarket rim with all the oem features still intact. Was happy with how it turned out.

You guys should do a ‘tools you’ll need’ before every episode, and briefly explain the job each tool will do. Socket sizes won’t be identical for each car, but it’ll give people an idea of the necessary items. Also, maybe a difficulty level for each project. Food for thought

I remember doing this for the first time on an old Honda. It was one of the best upgrades I ever made and I agree on the impact it’ll make to your driving feel.

Is there any way to put an aftermarket steering wheel on a car that has a spring clock that comes out about an inch like a donut? The car is a sentra 2010

Thanks for adding the safety warning in this video! I have seen a lot of tutorials that fail to mention the decrease in safety when getting an aftermarket steering wheel without changing to a harness in tandem.

You've got a great style going. I like how well you explain things so that even people who have no experience can understand it without boring those who do know, to death. Plus, your videos are just entertaining. I'm watching them all even though I already know how to do most of the stuff in them.

They say multi point seatbelts do more harm than good unless you’re wearing a helmet and neck brace. Otherwise you strapped in so firmly with your head being free increases the likelihood of getting neck injuries
