My wife used to work in EY as a CA.Despite having Stone pain she was not allowed to leave office and was forced to work.
EY is a pathetic company.

Catch Narayan Murthy first, promoting 70 hrs a week work culture and gifting 300 cr shares to his 1 year old grandson, bloody hypocrite no 1.

Doctors in India stayed together and fought together and still fighting together but when coming to Software Employees there are no proper associations and no proper guidelines 😢

Overwork shouldn't be glorified and must be dishonored

As someone who's worked in 2 (KPMG and PwC) of these Big 4's as tech consultant, this doesn't surprise. The competition, pressure and expectation to perform is insane. And despite giving my best and getting top ratings someone who's always in good books of manager will get away with promotions and hike. I once had a terrible mental breakdown and fainted in office and was rushed to the hospital by my colleagues. Thankfully I got away with minor injuries. Our Indian workculture seriously needs to change especially in Big 4's, but I doubt it will. The vicious cycle will continue.

Work from home was a blessing. Real estate mafia is forcing people back to office, especially in metro cities.

Right to disconnect is the need of the hour. The current normal is you are 24 hours employer's servant. Late sittings are glorified, companies don't understand that aside from our work responsibility we also have a responsibility to our families. Even after working 9 hours at office, you will be getting calls/ WhatsApp while travelling home and at home too .... Saturday/Sunday will be the same.
I don't care if the CEO is working 16 hours a day and weekends, I don't care if Modiji is working 18 hours a
I am not either one of them. Unfortunately, the situation is such that all employers use a simple answer 'we do it, so you have to do it too'. And most of the time these are the people who have no family life, they don't want to go home and so make life miserable for others

My daughter who is a CA did her articleship in EY but decided to stay away from big 4 citing that she didn’t want a life like that . She has various interests in life and she didn’t want to trade that . I am so glad she took that decision even though I very much wanted her to work in one of the big 4 . RIP Anna .😢

My daughter recently quit from ACCENTURE for the same reason. We reported to the their HR. Continuing at the same company after complaining would be disastrous. So I advised my daughter to quit!!

Ernst & Young should now be called Apathetic & Old. Anna's managers are fully responsible for what happened and their actions are unforgivable. This toxic corporate culture needs to end.

Rest in peace, Anna. My deepest condolences to the family.

Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti 🙏

I work in a corporate company too, one of the big 4s. I can definitely understand the pressure . Although there is a fixed work time in my company and working overtime without pay is not encouraged, they still manipulate us into volunteering for no pay OT by saying we will get additional days off or gift vouchers and stuff which ultimately is not the case. They're always in tight schedules and you're required to be present always. Even pre planning holidays is a black mark. You're definitely on the leash when you're working for a corporate

There should also policy regarding work culture in India. Govt. Should take action against this company.

FIR should be filed against those Managers who are responsible for this. It is like a "Culpable Homiside".
