Thank you for this! I was looking for a tutorial on what may be wrong. My dishwasher had been acting up for awhile. When the handle was lifted it would work but then stop if not held in that place. Took the door apart and the metal switch cover was misaligned due to plastic pin being warped. I aligned the metal cover properly and Ta dah! Dishwasher working properly!!!! Feeling pretty accomplished AND no dishes washed by hand tonight! I really appreciate this video

In my case, the plastic surrounding the door switches had bent a bit. I presume the plastic melted over time from heat. This moved the pin for the spring out of position. The spring moved slightly down and only engaged one of the two switches. All I had to do was realign the spring and all is well again. Other fun I have had with this washer have been replacing rusted out racks and removing things from the chopper. Some plastic had become wrapped around the chopper and it just clogged up preventing the machine from draining properly.

My Hotpoint has the same bad switch! Now to locate that replacement!

Why is important To put the first switch first then the second one

My daughter opened the dishwasher and stood on it and now it won't come on but if I press real hard on the door it will come on but if I let go it turns off. Help?
